…Okay, before anyone pushes the panic button, it’s not what it seems. As Google often does with their products, GMB is getting a “facelift”. First part of it, a new name. GMB will now be called Google Business Profile.
So why the change? According to Google, they want to “keep things simple”. They are moving people away from the Google My Business app and into Google Search and Google Maps. Google now prefers businesses with a single listing handle business management in Search or Maps.
Keep in mind, this is hardly the first time Google has revamped the name for this functionality. Remember Google Local, Google Places and/or Google+ Local? No matter the name, managing your local business online has always been important.
